Saint Barry by Melbourne Food Blogger

The Eastside is building.

Along with Mr Hendricks, Snow Pony, and the newly opened White Mojo, here comes Saint Barry to add a new layer to the ancient restaurant scene out in the residential east.

While the aforementioned trio of cafes are strictly that, Saint Barry’s also brings good news to those that have to work typical business hours with the kitchen also open for dinner service.

The modern setting of the restaurant provides a welcoming front to sit nicely alongside the Mediterranean menu, capably handled by ex-Hellenic Republic chef, Spyros Vrakas.

Produce is king, as the menu does its best job to uplift this. Highlights included the likes of simply grilled salmon with a fresh cous cous salad, a deviously delicious trio of sliders – with the pulled pork being especially memorable, and a perfectly arranged beetroot salad which highlights the underappreciated root vegetable.

Things aren’t over complicated here, as Saint Barry brings some Hellenic Republic inspiration out to the residential East.

In a Sentence: A local gem adding towards the revival of the residential food scene.

Verdict: Would Go Back
